As a chemical site classified SEVESO high threshold, safety is of prime importance at INTEROR.
The security and safety of all employees, collaborators and residents living nearby are the core commitments of the whole INTEROR staff.
Risk Management
The principles and commitments of INTEROR are expressed in its Industrial Safety Policy. Safety trainings are provided to each personnel in a regular basis.
A clear and constant communication is established between all relevant stakeholders, especially by means of a public information campaign
organized by the SPPPI (Permanent Secretariat for the Prevention of Industrial Pollution). Actions have been put in place to reduce and prevent accidents at work. This includes a systematic assessment of all accidents, the use of root cause analysis and an awareness campaign using security posters.
Our procedures, implemented by trained and skilled staff, enable us to master our process from design to operations. Emergency Response
management is also essential. For this, we rely on our human resources (72 emergency rescuers and 84 fire responders) and on our equipment.
INTEROR has implemented an efficient fire protection system that is activated automatically in case of a fire is detected in the storage buildings. In addiction a fire water network distribution covers the entire site.
Good management of hazardous substances
Safety being considered a priority to reduce chemical risks to a minimum as regular investments have been made to equip each production building properly against its specific hazards.
- The safe management of chemicals, internally or with our partners, is essential for us. For this, the Interor EHS team keeps a constant technological watch to anticipate the regulatory changes of our obligations concerning our products vis-à-vis, among others, REACH, CLP and Transport regulations.
- INTEROR has registered nearly 70 substances, mainly as Transported or On-Site Isolated Intermediates. To ensure the development of new projects, INTEROR regularly submits PPORD files for its product and process-oriented research and development activities.
- All hazardous chemicals are identified and classified according to the CLP regulation (Classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures). In addition to the available study data, INTEROR uses (Q)SAR software to obtain physico-chemical, toxicological or eco-toxicological data concerning its substances. These data are included in the REACH Dossiers for substances manufactured or imported at more than 1 tonne per year and are used by INTEROR to edit the Material Safety Data Sheets for substances placed on the market, but also for those which are handled on site.
- INTEROR ensures that its shipments comply with ADR, IMDG and IATA regulations.
